Who We Are

In 1991, Bernie McGinn founded the firm after nearly a decade in the investment industry working for large institutions, such as Merrill Lynch and Kidder Peabody. With an often contrarian investment style, we invest in companies that are typically misunderstood victims of investor over-reaction to short-term news, objects of misplaced fear or overlooked by brokerage houses more interested in investment banking than asset management. By not overpaying for a security, we build the foundation for maximizing future gains and limiting downside exposure. Whatever the shape of the opportunity, our overriding objective is to take no more risk than absolutely necessary to achieve above-average capital gains for our clients. And our boutique size promotes more personal interaction, enabling us to meet each client’s investment goals.
